MAYA Project: Mentoring Young NEET Women in Amadora

The Portuguese activities of the MAYA Project, coordinated by Amadora Inova and supported by the Erasmus+ Programme, have combined pilot mentoring and dissemination in Amadora municipality. Between April and June 2026, a mentoring cycle with nine young adult NEET women tested the seven‑module MAYA Training Curriculum and mentoring approach, using interactive, learner‑centred activities to support confidence‑building, personal planning and employability.

In June 2026, a local multiplier event brought together professionals and stakeholders working in education, social inclusion and youth support to present the MAYA Handbook, Curriculum, Mentoring Guide and Open Educational Resources, and to share the lessons learned from the Portuguese rollout. The event helped raise awareness of the project in the Lisbon metropolitan area and encouraged interest in applying the MAYA methodology in local organisations.

These activities in Amadora municipality contributed to validating the MAYA approach in the Portuguese context and to strengthening local cooperation around the inclusion and empowerment of young adult NEET women.
