MAYA Project Multiplier Event Attracted Great Interest in Konya

Coordinated by Selçuk University and supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme, the Multiplier Event of the MAYA Project (Mainstreaming Actions to Reinforce the Professional Dimension and Emotional Side of Young Adult NEET Women in Europe) was held on Friday, 19 June 2026, at the Meram Public Education Centre.

The event was attended by a total of 81 participants, including NEET young women, youth workers, trainers, public education centre staff and representatives of local stakeholder organisations. The participants were distributed across three target groups: 49 NEET young women, 25 youth workers/trainers and 7 stakeholder organisation representatives. The event therefore met the project’s target of 80 participants.

Project Outputs Presented

Following the opening speeches, the aim of the MAYA Project, its target group of NEET young women aged 18–35, its partnership structure and its work packages were presented to the participants. The project’s main results were introduced during the event:

• the MAYA Handbook, based on the principles of the Montessori method;
• the 7-module Training Curriculum and Mentoring Programme;
• five interactive tools (the goal map, the project simulation, the peer circle, role-play and the skills-swap fair);
• the Open Educational Resources (OER) available at mayaproject.eu.

In addition, the piloting experiences gained from the NEET group trainings (TG1) and the youth worker sessions (TG2) were shared; participants raised questions about how the method could be adapted to their own institutions and how they could access the online resources.

High Participant Satisfaction

In the anonymous feedback survey carried out at the end of the event, participants’ assessments were highly positive. In an evaluation across seven dimensions, the overall average was 4.63 out of 5, with 99% of responses falling within the “high” and “very high” range. The highest score was given to “the wish to take part in such events again” (4.90), while participants rated the presentation of the interactive tools and the sharing of the piloting experiences as the most useful parts.

Sustainability and Cooperation

The interest shown by the stakeholder organisations and the participants’ willingness to apply the MAYA results in their own work were strong indications that the project’s outcomes will live on beyond the project’s duration. The Open Educational Resources on mayaproject.eu remain freely available to everyone working in the field of supporting NEET young women.
