Overview
This work package forms the intellectual and pedagogical foundation of the MAYA Project. It focuses on researching how Montessori principles—such as autonomy, experiential learning, and emotional balance—can be adapted to adult education for young NEET women (Not in Education, Employment or Training). Through a combination of comparative studies, field research, and curriculum design, WP2 develops the MAYA Curriculum, a flexible and inclusive framework promoting self-directed learning, confidence, and social engagement. The curriculum is supported by a structured
mentoring framework, ensuring that learning processes are guided, reflective, and empowering.
Purpose and Impact
WP2 bridges educational theory with practice. It not only analyses how Montessori pedagogy can address the learning needs of NEET women, but also produces concrete tools—curricula, mentoring guidelines, and evaluation methods—that educators and organizations can use across Europe. Its outcomes serve as the backbone for the next stages of the project, influencing both the digital resources (WP3) and local implementation (WP4).
